From the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , a Ferrari dealer is suing a customer because he trash talked the company on FerrariTalk.com. While I hate companies that sue people for honest reviews, said customer comes across as an idiot himself.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

You see, this fellow says that the Connecticut Ferrari dealership from which he had bought the car offered him $30,000 over original cost for his 2007 Ferrari 599. They had a buyer lined up that was willing to pay the mark-up. So the guy sold his car.

Some time later he discovered that a similar Ferrari 599 was sold at auction for $684,000 and now says the dealership was aware of the value of his car and screwed him over.

Now I’ll happily run around screaming about shady dealership tactics, but this guy should have done some of his own due diligence. You drive a Ferrari. You should be well aware what the appreciation on your vehicle is before you sell it.

Having a hard time getting Kinja to upload a photo... and we’d probably get sued over it anyway.

What an idiot. They offered him money that he could take or leave. He took it.

I’m all for calling out shady business, but this wasn’t. It was dumbass business, on his part. In his dealings with them, they probably realized that he had no clue what he had and saw a solid opportunity. An opportunity he should’ve researched prior to agreeing.

What type of 599 are we talking about that fetches close to $700k? That’s got to be the GTO, right?

I believe so. The story says only 20 were imported to the U.S. so I’m guessing they’re talking about a special version and the GTO is pretty much all I can think of outside of the XX program.

Everyone is losers in this story... Every. Single. Pathetic. One of them.

Then one of two things is going on here:

Either,

(A) the seller is an idiot, has a regular 599, doesn’t know the difference between the 599 and the 599 GTO, and thinks he’ entitled to a 599 GTO price; or

(B) he had a 599 GTO, didn’t know the difference, and allowed the dealership talk him into selling his 599 GTO for about $400k less than it’s worth.

In either case, I think the seller is to blame and doesn’t deserve any Ferrari.
